Mayank Agarwal's Test debut:

Mayank Agarwal, who made his Test debut earlier this year during India’s tour of Australia, maintained his fine run at home. During India’s 3-0 series clean sweep against South Africa last month, the opener scored 340 runs from just four innings that included two centuries.

Continuing their dominating run at home, the Indian cricket team, following their 2-1 triumph in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series, once again had the visiting Bangladeshi side ducking for cover in the 1st Test at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. A splendid bowling display saw India ripping through the Bangladeshi batting line-up, eventually bowling them out for a mere 150 runs in the first innings.

While the Indian pace trio of Mohammed Shami (3-27), Ishant Sharma (2-20) and Umesh Yadav (2-47) hunted in a pack to give India a roaring start, opening batsman Mayank Agarwal ensured there was no respite for Bangladesh as he clobbered the opposition bowlers all around the park during his career-best 243-run knock.

Brilliant Career starts from Commencement:

A shy kid who just would not open up or communicate during his days as an under-19 cricketer, Mayank Agarwal has gone from strength to strength in his budding international career, which has already started turning heads in the cricket fraternity. With over 4500 runs in first-class cricket, there is no dearth of talent when it comes to Mayank. But, he still had to wait for his national call-up.

And, when it eventually came in December 2018, Mayank  Agarwal made sure he made it count. The Bengaluru batsman scored a gritty fifty against a testing bowling attack on an equally menacing Melbourne wicket to showcase his abilities. And, since then, there has been no turning back for this cricketer.

Virat Kohli Interviews Double Centurion Mayank Agarwal Over His Fitness & Mindset:

After his breathtaking innings on Day 2, Mayank  Agarwal was interviewed by Indian captain Virat Kohli who, earlier in the day, had made a gesture from the dressing room to the Indian opener to go for a double hundred. In a light-hearted conversation, Mayank spoke about hitting his second double century, keeping the fitness levels high, and being the team man.

In a mere seven Test matches, Mayank Agarwal has scored three fifties, a hundred and a double century. But, on 15th November, in his eighth match, Mayank's true potential was in full display during an innings that proved he belonged at the highest level of cricket. During the second day's play of the 1st Test against Bangladesh, the opening batsman castled a sensational 243 runs after taking the opposition bowling attack to the cleaners.

His career-best knock formed the cornerstone of India's total of 493 runs in the first innings and allowed the hosts to gain a sizeable lead of 343 runs. Clinching his second double hundred, the Indian opener surpassed Sir Don Bradman on the list of the fastest batsmen to score two double hundreds in Test cricket. While Bradman took 13 innings to achieve the milestone, Mayank was an innings quicker to notch up his second double century.
