Rovman Powell was inborn on 23 July 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica, and cultivate up in the Bannister a sub-divisions of Old Harbor Bay along with his mother Joan Plumer, and younger sister. Unfortunately, his father left his mother before he came into this world.
Powell grew up in relative poverty, looking after his sister as his mother worked multiple jobs. He attended Old Harbour High School, also working as a goat herder for a period of time. Ervine comes from a family deeply involved in cricket, his father Rory, and Uncle Neil both played first-class cricket for Rhodesia B, while his brother Sean Ervine is also a former Zimbabwean international cricketer. His other brother Ryan also played domestic cricket in Zimbabwe.
Ervine received his education at Lomagundi College on the outskirts of Chinhoyi. His batting talent earned him a place in the Zimbabwe Cricket Academy and he soon represented the Zimbabwe Under 19 and A teams.
In his youth, Ervine suffered a serious accident that almost put an end to his cricketing dreams. He slipped and fell on a glass roof, badly injuring his right hand. After undergoing reconstructive surgery, he moved to England to further improve his game, where he represented clubs such as Bexhill, Lordhood, and Lisburn.
Ervine made his international debut for Zimbabwe in May 2010 in a T20 against Sri Lanka. He scored his first ODI century against New Zealand in 2015 and his first Test century against the same opposition in 2016. Sikander Raza Butt, born on 24 April 1986 in Sialkot, Punjab province of Pakistan, a city known for its sports goods manufacturing, is a renowned all-rounder cricketer who represents the Zimbabwe national cricket team internationally.
