Countries and their players who have scored triple centuries.

Centuries and double centuries in any format of cricket have been scored by various players of the world.

But it requires a lot of skill and patience for any player to score 300 runs or more 'triple centuries' in an innings of any format of cricket.

Out of all the accredited countries in the world, only eight countries and their players have scored the triple century in any format of cricket so far.

Here is a brief description of the countries and their players who have scored triple centuries from all the cricket-playing nations in the world.

Triple centuries scored by Australia and their players:

  • 1. The first triple century for Australia's team was scored by Sir Donald Bradman against England on 11 July 1930 at Leeds, England in the first innings of the third Test played during Australia's tour of England.

    In this test, Sir Donald Bradman had scored a total of 334 runs from 448 balls with the help of 46 fours.
  • 2. The 2nd triple century for team Australia was also scored by Sir Donald Bradman against England on 20 July 1934 at Headingley, England in the first innings of the 4th Test played during Australia's tour of England.

    In this test, Sir Donald Bradman had scored a total of 304 runs from 473 balls with the help of 43 fours.
  • 3. The 3rd triple century for Australia's cricket team was scored by Bob Simpson against England on 23 July 1964 at Old Trafford, Manchester, England in the first innings of the 4th Test played during Australia's tour of England.

    In this test, Bob Simpson had scored a total of 311 runs from 773 balls with the help of 23 fours.
  • 4. The 4th triple century for team Australia was scored by Bob Cowper against England on 11 February 1966 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia in the first innings of the 5th Test played during England's tour of Australia.

    In this test, Bob Cowper had scored a total of 307 runs from 589 balls with the help of 20 fours.
  • 5. The 5th triple century for Australia's team was scored by Mark Taylor against Pakistan on 15 October 1998 at Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar, Pakistan in the first innings of the second Test played during Australia's tour of Pakistan.

    In this test, Mark Taylor had scored an unbeaten total of 334 runs from 564 balls with the help of 32 fours and a six.
  • 6. The 6th triple century for team Australia was scored by Matthew Hayden against Zimbabwe on 09 October 2003 at WACA Ground, Perth, Australia in the first innings of the first Test played during Zimbabwe's tour of Australia.

    In this test, Matthew Hayden had scored a total of 380 runs from just 437 balls with the help of 38 fours and 11 sixes.
  • 7. The 7th triple century for Australia's team was scored by Michael Clarke against India on 03 January 2012 at Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia in the first innings of the second Test played during India's tour of Australia.

    Michael Clarke had scored a total of 329 runs in just 468 balls with the help of 39 fours and a six while remaining unbeaten in this inning.

Triple centuries scored by West Indies and their players:

  • 1. The debut triple century for the West Indies cricket team was scored by Sir Garfield Sobers against Pakistan on 26 February 1958 at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica in the first innings of the 3rd Test played during Pakistan's tour of West Indies.

    In this test, Sir Garfield Sobers had scored 365 runs by the batting of 614 minutes on the crease with the help of 38 fours while remaining unbeaten in this inning.
  • 2. The 2nd triple century for team West Indies was scored by Lawrence Rowe against England on 06 March 1974 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados in the first innings of the 3rd Test played during England's tour of West Indies.

    In this test, Lawrence Rowe had scored a total of 302 runs from 430 balls with the help of 36 fours and one sixer.
  • 3. The 3rd triple century for the West Indies team was scored by Brian Lara against England on 16 April 1994 at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's,  Antigua in the first innings of the 5th Test played during England's tour of West Indies.

    In this test, Brian Lara had scored a brilliant total of 375 runs with the help of 45 fours by the facing of 538 balls.
  • 4.  The 4th triple century for team West Indies was scored by Brian Lara against England on10 April 2004 at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's,  Antigua in the first innings of the 4th Test played during England's tour of West Indies.

    Brian Lara played a superb unreachable inning of 400 runs for West Indies in 582 balls with the help of 43 fours and 4 sixes while remaining unbeaten in this inning.
  • 5.  The 5th triple century for the West Indies team was scored by Chris Gayle against South Africa on 29 April 2005 at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's,  Antigua in the first innings of the 4th Test played during South Africa's tour of West Indies.

    In this test, Chris Gayle had faced 483 balls with the help of 37 fours and 3 sixes and played a magnificent inning of 317 runs for the West Indies.
  • 6.  The 6th triple century for team West Indies was scored by Chris Gayle against Sri Lanka on 15 November 2010 at Galle International Stadium, Sri Lanka in the first innings of the first Test played during the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka.

Triple centuries scored by England and their players:

  • 1. Andy Sandham scored the first triple century in world cricket and also for the England team in the first innings of the Fourth Test against the West Indies during the West Indies tour of England at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on 3 April 1930.

    In this test, Andy Sandham had faced 640 balls with the help of 28 fours and played a brilliant inning of 325 runs for England.
  • 2. The 2nd triple century for team England was scored by Wally Hammond against New Zealand on 31 March 1933 at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand in the first innings of the 2nd Test played during England's tour of New Zealand.

    Wally Hammond played a superb inning of 336 runs for England by the batting of 614 minutes on the crease with the help of 34 fours and 10 sixes while remaining unbeaten in this inning.
  • 3. The 3rd triple century for England's team was scored by Len Hutton against  Australia on 20 August 1938 at The Oval, London, England in the first innings of the 5td Test played during  Australia's tour of England.

    Len Hutton played a magnificent inning of 336 runs for England by the facing of 847 balls with the help of 35 fours.
  • 4. The 4th triple century for team England was scored by John Edrich against  New Zealand on 08 July 1965 at Headingley, Leeds, England in the first innings of the 3rd Test played during  New Zealand's tour of England.

    John Edrich had scored brilliantly 310 runs by the facing of just 450 balls with the help of 52 fours and 5 sixes while remaining unbeaten in this inning.
  • 5. The 5th triple century for England's team was scored by Graham Gooch against  India on 26 July 1990 at Lord's Cricket Ground, London, England in the first innings of the first Test played during  India's tour of England.

  • 1. The debut triple century for Pakistan's team was scored by Hanif Mohammad against West Indies on 17 January 1958 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados in the second innings of the first Test played during  Pakistan's tour of West Indies.

    Hanif Mohammad played a superb inning of 337 runs for Pakistan by the batting of 970 minutes on the crease with the help of 24 fours without any sixes.
  • 2. The 2nd triple century for team Pakistan was scored by Inzamam-ul-Haq against New Zealand on 01 May 2002 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan in the first innings of the first Test played during New Zealand's tour of Pakistan.

    In this test, Inzamam-ul-Haq had faced just 436 balls with the help of 38 fours and 09 sixes and played a brilliant inning of 329 runs for Pakistan.
  • 3. The 3rd triple century for Pakistan's team was scored by Younis Khan against Sri Lanka on 21 February 2009 at National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan in the first innings of the first Test played during Sri Lanka's tour of Pakistan.

    In this test, Younis Khan had played 568 balls with the help of 27 fours and 04 sixes and played a brilliant inning of 313 runs for Pakistan.

  • 3. The 3rd triple century for India's team was scored by Karun Nair against  England on 16 December 2016 ​at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, India in the first innings of the 5th Test played during England's tour of India.

    In this innings, Karun Nair had scored a brilliant 303 runs for India while remaining unbeaten after facing just 381 balls with the help of 32 fours and 04 sixes.

  • 1. The debut triple century for Sri Lanka's cricket team was scored by Sanath Jayasuriya against India on 02 August 1997 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka in the first innings of the first Test played during India's tour of Sri Lanka.

    In this innings, Sanath Jayasuriya had scored a brilliant knock of 340 runs for Sri Lanka after facing 578 balls with the help of 36 fours and 02 sixes.
  • 2. The 2nd triple century for team Sri Lanka was scored by Mahela Jayawardene against South Africa on 27 July 2006 at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, Sri Lanka in the first innings of the first Test played during India's tour of Sri Lanka.
